Moldovan, Japanese officials approach cooperation relations

Chisinau, Dec. 3 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu discussed this morning with Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida. The officials approached the good relations between our countries and how we can expand the existing cooperation, the presidential press service has reported.
Maia Sandu thanked Kishida for the development assistance from the Government in Tokyo, as well as for the assistance that helps us to improve the quality of public services, including in health, to increase the performance of the agricultural sector and to develop the economy.
"For example, this year, we receive assistance for the procurement of firefighting equipment - 19 special vehicles worth 12 million euros. Also, high-performance equipment will be purchased from Japan's money, in the amount of about 8 million euros, which will reach five large hospitals in the country: the Institute of Emergency Medicine, the Timofei Moșneaga Republican Clinical Hospital, the Mother and Child Institute, Oncological Institute and Sfanta Treime Municipal Clinical Hospital. Recently, we received a batch of medical equipment, worth about 1.3 million euros, for the laboratories under the management of the National Public Health Agency", said Maia Sandu.
The sides also broached the consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine for our country, including the crises, the most serious being the energy crisis. In this context, Maia Sandu said we are interested in developing joint initiatives to help us speed up the energy security of our country.
