Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Future Museums Programme today was launched by the Culture Ministry in partnership with the Future Activities Project, financed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Sweden, and the COR Association of Creative Companies.
Thus, the museums from Moldova will benefit from financial assistance, in order to launch innovating projects of setting forth the content through digital and new-media art ways, as well as immersive experiences, projection mapping, virtual/augmented reality, holograms/ real time streaming, sensors (movement trackers, sound, touching).
Attending the event, Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said that this programme was laying the foundations of a sustainable future of the museology. ‘’A museum cannot be born in the office of the Culture Ministry, but only through innovation and cooperation. The museums are living organisms which should attract and bring benefits to the entire economy. The culture is one of the most promising fields of investments. We must have private investments in art and especially in the museology sector,’’ Sergiu Prodan stressed.
The value of financing per one project will be of up to 20,000 dollars. The projects are to be carried out on a period of six months in team with digital artists from Moldova. ‘’We have a rich history and we want this story to be told in an innovating way and with emotional value to the public. The future technologies will help us create new experiences of communication with the public, which bring the art to a new, modern level, preserving, at the same time, its cultural authenticity and value. Thus, the museums will become attractive for visitors of all ages both of Moldova and from abroad,’’ the director of the Future Activities Project, Doina Nistor, said.
The Future Museums Programme is set to facilitate the cooperation between artists from the creative industry and museums, in order to promote innovations in culture, enhance the visibility of the cultural institutions and the number of visitors of any age. The immersive exhibitions are in full ascension in the world of the global art world. The digital content is a novelty for many museums and art institutions from Moldova.
