Moldovan president approached reform process with Secretary General of Council of Europe

Chisinau, Dec. 8 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu met with Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE) Marija Pejčinović Burić. The discussion focused on cooperation with the CoE, which for almost three decades has been a solid partner in reforming and democratizing our country, the presidential press service has reported.
Maia Sandu noted that despite the challenges caused by the war, the authorities continue the actions of rooting out corruption and reforming the justice system. The reforms are part of the country's European agenda, and a commitment to the citizens to build a just society and a resilient economy, which will provide people with security.
Maia Sandu appreciated the support of the Council of Europe for the promotion of human rights and democratic values, the rule of law and media freedom.
