Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/ - A new meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) was held in Bender today, with the participation of the delegations of Moldova, Russia and Transnistrian region, as well as representatives of Ukraine and OSCE Mission in Moldova, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

The Joint Military Command reported to JCC on the situation in the Security Zone on the period 7-13 December 2022.

During the consideration of organizational subjects, the Transnistrian delegation abstained from backing the candidacy of an officer of the National Army, put forward as military observer on behalf of Moldova.

Moldova’s delegation categorically disapproved of such a destructive approach of blocking important processes within the Joint Control Commission. The delegation stressed that the military observers had an essential task in the mechanism of monitoring and documenting the situation in the perimeter of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces.

The participants in the meeting re-tackled the issue of illegal posts belonging to the power wielding structures subordinated to Tiraspol. At the same time, Moldova’s Delegation insisted on the unconditional removal of these posts from the Security Zone, underlining that the Transnistrian representatives’ unilateral actions ran counter the provisions of the basic acts of the peacekeeping mission at Dniester.

The next meeting of the Joint Control Commission was agreed upon to be held on 22 December 2022.
