Chisinau, 18 Dec. /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița conveyed a message on National Police Day today, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The message reads:
"Today we mark 32 years since the creation of the Police of the Republic of Moldova, one of the most important structures of the state. This is because the security of all citizens of our country directly depends on the dedication and professionalism of police employees.
Police officers ensure compliance with the law and are actively involved in the social life of the communities in which they operate, protecting people's rights, freedoms and lives. The police were at the frontline of the response to the refugee crisis in Ukraine, managed to maintain internal stability and managed security risks. Police employees were also fully involved in the management, along with other state institutions, of the COVID-19 pandemic. They still work every day, so that people in villages and cities feel safe.
We, at the Government, do our best to ensure that every police employee works in dignified conditions, close to those in Europe. In the current year, we have provided increases for the management of the exceptional situation and have come up with salary increases for all employees of the internal affairs system. With the support of European and international partners, we have improved the infrastructure and working conditions for employees in several police inspectorates. Several subdivisions were equipped with cars, computers, laptops, generators, software, etc. We want to ensure such conditions as quickly as possible for the other police officers in our country.
I appreciate your dedication, and thank you for your involvement and effort to keep people safe!"
