Customs Service collected over 693 million lei last week

Chisinau, Dec. 19 /MOLDPRES/- On December 12-18, the Customs Service collected over 693.7 million lei (about 34.6 million euros) to the state budget.
According to the Customs Service, during this period, private people introduced goods whose value in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to more than 23.9 million lei were collected, which represents 3% of the total amount.
Also, 11,019 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 72,641 crossings.
In terms of combating fraud, during the period, 92 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 235 thousand lei were applied. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 32 billion lei to the state budget, up by 17.7% compared to the same period last year.
