Moldovan, Romanian officials broach cooperation relations

Chisinau, Dec. 19 /MOLDPRES/- Romania will furher support Moldova to successfully overcome the crises of the last period. Speaker Igor Grosu today met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Bogdan Aurescu, on a visit to Chisinau, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
The discussions focused on the current situation in our country and the relevant and fast support formulas identified by Romania to be with the Republic of Moldova. The speaker thanked for the significant support and contribution on energy security, infrastructure, defense, as well as through numerous projects aimed at improving the living conditions of our citizens. Romania's deliveries of electricity, natural gas, fuel oil and firewood are helping our country face an unprecedented energy crisis. Recently, Romania offered emergency support, as direct budget support, of 10 million euros, which will be used for the procurement of natural gas and coal, and energy efficiency measures. By late 2022, the sum of 25 million euros will be disbursed for projects in the education and public administration.
"We will encourage new projects between the Romanians on both banks of the Prut, as an eloquent example of our special relations", said Igor Grosu.
Bogdan Aurescu encouraged our country to implement the nine recommendations of the European Commission in accelerating European integration, stressing that Romania will provide support to the Republic of Moldova in this regard.
