Moldovan president signs decree appointing presidential adviser in environment, climate changes field

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today signed a decree, under which Iuliana Cantaragiu will hold the office of presidential adviser in the sector of environmental protection and climate changes. The coordination of the national programme on afforestation, initiated by the head of state, will be among her duties too, the presidential press service has reported.
Iuliana Cantaragiu has degree in Economic Relations at the Bucharest-based Academy of Economic Studies; presently, she studies for master’s degree in Risks Management and Circular Economy at the University of Applied Sciences from Tampere, Finland. Cantaragiu has a rich experience in the management of environmental protects and worked including for international organizations.
During August 2021 – September 2022, Iuliana Cantaragiu held the position of environment minister and in August-November 2019, she acted as state secretary at the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry.
