Moldovan head of state conveys congratulatory message on occasion of National Police Day

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu congratulated the officers and civilian employees of the National Police on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the institution’s foundation at an event organized at the headquarters of the National Police Inspectorate today, the presidential press service has reported.
„I expressed appreciation for the effort made by the police employees in the last year – effort which, in this year marked by war, ensured peace and public order in the community, offered safety to the citizens and refugees,’’ the head of state said in her speech.
Also, President Maia Sandu encouraged the policemen to use all opportunities of growth and development provided by the work in police, including those due to appear with the country’s advancement on the European integration way. ‘’On the difficult period through which Moldova goes now, it is quite important that we consolidate the society’s confidence in police,’’ Maia Sandu stressed.
The Moldovan president awarded state distinctions to eight employees of the interior affairs system, as a token of appreciation for the work carried out. ‘’I thank all policemen for professionalism and devotion and their families – for backing them, acting as support at home. The society needs a strong, integral and efficient police, in order to edify our European free and prosperous future in peace,’’ the head of state said in her message.
