Ginta Latină Theater to produce energy for own consumption

Chisinau, Dec. 20 /MOLDPRES/- Ginta Latină Theater will produce energy for its own consumption, after 220 photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof of the institution, capable of generating 120 MWh of ecological electricity per year, announced the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

Ginta Latină is the first public cultural institution that will use renewable energy. The photovoltaic station will be able to fully cover the electricity consumption during the sunny season and most of the consumption in the cold months. Thus, the expenses of the institution will be reduced, and the savings will be able to be invested in creative development.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova is currently working on a project to amend the Law on the energy performance of buildings, through which the Government sets an ambitious goal to develop the sector of public buildings with almost zero consumption. The only way to achieve this objective is by using renewable energy sources.
