Moldovan, Romanian officials approach bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, Dec. 20 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu had a meeting on Monday with head of Romanian diplomacy Bogdan Aurescu, on a working visit to Chisinau, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials approached the very good cooperation between the two countries, including in this very difficult year for all of us.
"I expressed my gratitude for Romania's quick and unconditional response to help us overcome the biggest energy crisis in the country's history. The deliveries of electricity and fuel oil during this critical period were our saviour," said Maia Sandu.
The head of state also thanked for the direct budgetary support of ten million euros, granted through the Moldova Support Platform.
Maia Sandu said that our relations with Romania are closer than ever, and in the coming year we want to be even closer, and to turn to good account more development opportunities for both sides.
"We have important infrastructure and economic integration projects on the agenda, to increase the volume of investments and trade. We are counting on Romania for the interconnection of power systems. We want to start the construction of the Ungheni-Ungheni bridge as soon as possible and make the Leova-Bumbăta bridge operational. We want to simplify road connections, and thus also those between people", the head of state said.
