Over 16,800 people call ambulance in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - The emergency medical assistance teams last week provided the first medical aid to 16,800 people. Most often, ambulance was called for people with respiratory diseases – 5,363 patients.
According to the Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance National Centre (CNAMUP), in the last week, 3,219 calls were recorded for reason of cardiovascular emergences, including 56 patients with acute coronary syndrome. The neurological emergencies represented 1,957 cases, of which 241 cerebral vascular accidents, followed by injury emergencies – 1,070 cases.
Also, the Emergency Medical Assistance Service received 61 calls for the reason of toxic emergencies, of which 19 intoxications with medicines, 11 with carbon monoxide and eight intoxications with alcohol.
Also, the Service registered 41 calls on grounds of emergencies triggered by physical, chemical and environmental agents, and namely 24 combustions and four hypothermia cases.
