Gala of participants in Olympiads for pupils held in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - The best pupils and teachers of Moldova today were awarded prizes at the gala of the participants in Olympiads 2022, held at the Chisinau-based Organ Hall.  

Attending the event, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita congratulated the pupils who had participated in Olympiads, teachers and their parents. She noted that these results were quite important not only for the education system, but also for the entire country, which chose a road of progress, development and European integration. ‘’Despite a complicated period, you have managed to get exceptional results at international competitions. The entire country is proud of your results,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.    

For his part, Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala thanked the pupils and teachers for the responsibility and dedication with which they represented the country at international competitions. ‘’Today, we celebrate the excellency in education,’’ the minister stressed.    

The gala of the participants in Olympiads 2022 is a festivity held annually by the Education and Research Ministry and the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation Gala, in order to pay homage to the pupils of achieved outstanding results at regional and international Olympiads and contests at education disciplines, as well as to the teachers who contributed to the education of pupils and the achieving of these results.     

In 2022, Moldova delegated Olympic teams for participation, both in online format and with physical presence, in over 15 regional and international Olympiads and contests, organized in various countries.    

Thirty four pupils who got remarkable results at regional and international Olympiads and contests, held during 2022, received prizes.  The overall value of the prizes provided to pupils and teachers is 860,000 lei (43,000 euros).
