Documentary exhibition dedicated to Chisinau aqueduct inaugurated at museum from Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - A documentary exhibition titled, A History of 130 Years – The Aqueduct of Chisinau, was inaugurated at the Museum of History of the Chisinau City today.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the director of the aforementioned museum, Valeria Suruceanu, said that, in December, more public institutions were marking the 130th anniversary of the inauguration of the first Chisinau’s water supply system – an ambitious and important project for the city’s modernization, initiated in the first half of the 19th century. The official inauguration of the aqueduct took place on 20 December 1892 and was made by the then Chisinau mayor, Carol Schmidt.

The exhibition presents photographic materials and documents from the funds of the Museum of History of the Chisinau City, National Agency of Archives, National History Museum of Moldova and from other sources.

The exhibition will be opened till 31 January.
