Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - The normative framework in the state’s security sector will be improved. The participants in a today’s meeting of the parliament’s juridical commission for appointments and immunities approved a report for a draft law proposing the amendment of the Criminal Code, in order to combat the risks and threats triggered by the subversive actions of foreign special services against Moldova.
The document provides for the completion of the Criminal Code with notions which incriminate the deeds related to the offences of espionage and high treason. Thus, the initiation, organization or creation of illegal informal structures in Moldova will be sanctioned under the Criminal Code. At the same time, people who will instigate other people to actions which harm the independence, territorial inviolability, security of the state or Moldova’s defence capacity will be called to account.
The Criminal Code will also be completed with a new component of offence and namely the actions committed, in order to separate a part of Moldova’s territory, as well as the distribution of information inciting to such actions.
