Pay of seasoned soldiers to be increased in Moldova as of 1 January 2023

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - The seasoned military of the National Army starting from the next year will be receive 500 lei, instead of 150 lei, which they had been getting earlier. The cabinet of ministers today approved an increase in the pay of the seasoned servicemen and people called to cantonments, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

Also, under the document, the demobilized seasoned military will be paid a one-off allowance worth three pays, which is 1,500 lei. And if they come from orphan children or who remained without parents’ guardianship – worth five soldiers’ pays (2,500 lei).   

The draft also stipulates that the seasoned soldiers conscripted to the Peacekeeping Forces from the Security Zone will receive a pay of 600 lei, no matter the position held in the contingent. At the same time, the seasoned military and the servicemen with short term, appointed to leadership offices under order, will receive a higher pay for the period of holding these positions. The pay will increase by 10 per cent for the group commanders and for the deputies of platoon commanders – by 15 per cent.     

At the same time, the draft decision provides for the increase in the monthly allowance of people called up for cantonments by up to 500 lei.
