Virtual coins to be regulated under law in Moldova

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - Notions regarding the virtual coins will be introduced in the national legislation. The members of the parliamentary commission for national security, defence and public order today approved a draft law to this end.

According to the authors, the amendments are needed, given the quick development of this sector and the risk of the abusive use of the virtual coins, in order to launder money and finance terrorism.

The draft law also sees the amendment of the domestic legislative framework in the field of prevention and combating of the money laundering through the introduction of articles which regard the effective beneficiary, people exposed politically or measures enforced as to the countries/jurisdictions with high risk, nominated by the International Financial Action Task Force.
