Moldovan-French officials approach cooperation

Chisinau, Dec. 22 /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu received at the MAEIE a delegation of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces led by Guillaume Ollagnier, head of the department of international relations and strategy. French Ambassador to Moldova Paul Graham also participated in the meeting, the MAEIE press service has reported.

The Moldovan diplomat welcomed the delegation's visit to the Republic of Moldova and noted the importance in the context of the objective of strengthening the defense and security capabilities of our country.

"The visit is the concrete result of our understandings in Paris during the joint meeting with Minister Anatolie Nosatîi and French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu, which aims at both deepening and expanding Moldovan-French relations.

At the meeting, we also talked about reforming the Moldovan army and new fields of cooperation in the defense sector", said Popescu.
