Mothers working on period of maternity leave to be able to benefit from salary, allowance in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs today approved, in the second reading, a draft law which will give women right to benefit both from salary and maternity allowance, on the period of the maternity leave.    

Thus, the draft is set to preserve woman’s right to benefit from the concerned allowance; its size is to be established based on the income of the wife or husband, depending on who has higher salary.    

The Labour Code, the law on the public office and the status of civil servant, as well as the law on the allowances for temporary incapacity for work and other social insurances benefits were amended, in order to enforce this provision.
