Chisinau, Dec. 23 /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița participated in a meeting of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Republic of Moldova, during which the institution's activity report for the second half of this year was presented and the CCI's priorities for 2023 were set, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Gavrilita pointed out the CCI's role in supporting entrepreneurial activity, and noted that the government also remains fully involved in improving the business environment and growing the country's economy with the contribution of investments. The authorities have come up with policies aimed at preserving jobs and ensuring predictability for business.

Important decisions were also taken in the fiscal policy of the state, to support economic agents in the conditions of the multiple crises faced by the Republic of Moldova. Thus, the 0% income tax rate was set up for micro, small or medium-sized enterprises, in the case of non-distribution of the net profit related to the 2023-2025 fiscal periods, the accelerated depreciation of investments for large enterprises, and the implementation of the concept of refunding the amount of VAT accumulated in account, starting from 1 January 2023.

"We don't know how long we will be affected by the factors causing volatility in the energy sector, disruption of logistics chains and rising prices. But we continue to work so that investors have confidence in state institutions and operate in conditions of stability", said Natalia Gavrilița.

The Council's members appreciated the actions taken by the Executive to support business, noting that they have a positive impact and are beneficial for business people who conduct their activity exclusively on the basis of the law. Also, the participants requested that the CCI continue to organize as many business events as possible, during which Chamber members can promote their products and services.

CCI head Sergiu Harea said that the institution's goal for the next year remains the promotion of the interests of the business environment at the national and local level. "We will continue to promote domestic products on the international market, and the training of human resources for the national economy sector and the promotion of dual education remain our priorities. Of course, we will continue to provide assistance to entrepreneurs in accessing financial resources, attracting investments and implementing projects for the development and internationalization of business",  he said.
