Chisinau, Dec. 24 /MOLDPRES/- The Border Police ordered several actions to streamline traffic at the state border during the winter holidays.
According to the Border Police, during this period the number of border crossings increases, especially at the border with Romania. Thus, the number of front-line personnel and special travel document control equipment was increased.
Database interoperability is also applied to facilitate the work of border guards and ensure speedy processing of travel document data. At the same time, the telecommunications network in PTF Leușeni was changed, including the updated information system.
Joint teams were formed and actions were synchronized with the Customs Service and also direct contacts were maintained with counterparts from Romania and Ukraine. Actions are coordinated with MAI subdivisions to direct traffic on national routes in the vicinity of crossing points.
The authority urged citizens to call: 022 259 717 - the Green Line of the Border Police, which works non-stop, or to follow the situation in real time by accessing https://border.gov.md/camere-web.
At the border of the Republic of Moldova, seven crossing points with Romania and 33 with Ukraine are open to traffic.
