Chisinau, Dec. 25 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu congratulated all those who, after a difficult year, celebrate Christmas on this day, the presidential press service has reported.
"Christmas is about birth and celebration, about life and hope, about generosity and humility. About a soul open to the joys of heaven, but also to the joys of those close to you. It's about our strong connection with those who have gone and those who come. There is no celebration more awaited by the little ones, but also by the big ones, by the numerous ones, but also by the lonely ones. Each of us, these days, needs a little miracle. Each of us, these days, can do a small miracle for the other", said Maia Sandu.
The head of state said that although this year's tree will have fewer lights, we will be and will certainly remain on the side of light. "On the bright side of the world. Not opulence, not indulgence, not extravagance marks the spirit of this holiday, but care. The natural care for what we have, for our neighbor, for the cleanliness of the face, for the beauty of the world we leave behind us", said the president.
At the same time, Maia Sandu said that when we talk about the Christian spirit, we have in mind exactly what the people of the Republic of Moldova did for the refugees from the neighboring country. "You opened the doors of your houses without waiting for reward and aggrandizement and shared the bread with our Ukrainian neighbors, who are in great abundance. You were and are dignified, hearty and jumpy when needed. I am proud and grateful to you. A whole world has seen how generous you are. I wish you beautiful holidays with your loved ones! Peace in the soul, peace in the homes, peace on earth! Merry Christmas!" concluded the head of state.
