Chisinau, 3 January /MOLDPRES/ - The National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) prosecutes a border policeman and his accomplice for the organization of the illegal crossing of the border by two Ukrainians.
According to CNA, Centre’s officers and prosecutors today made searches at a border policeman and his accomplice within criminal files opened on the fact of committing passive corruption and influence peddling.
According to the causes’ materials, a group of people, claiming that they would have influence on employees of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police (IGPF), and that they can prompt them ensure the free crossing of Moldova’s state border by two Ukrainians, would have claimed and received from these citizens financial means in crypto-currency equivalent to 12,500 dollars and 600 euros. Thus, by exercising influence on an IGPF employee, against an illicit remuneration, information on the entrance of Ukraine’s citizens in Moldova was introduced in the Crossings information system and the concerned stamp was put in passports.
Within the criminal prosecution, law-enforcers got evidence on transfers in crypto-currency and found out that the aforementioned citizens had not crossed the border through the Giurgiulesti-Reni border checkpoint, just as it was indicated in the information system.
