Yellow Code of strong wind announced in Moldova

Chisinau, 5 January /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has informed about a Yellow Code of strong wind for 6 January.

According to meteorologists, the north-western wind will have gustings up to 15-20 metres/second during 0:00-19:00.

In these conditions, rescuers recommend avoiding places where there are dry trees or objects which pose risk of collapsing or electric wires.

The weather is expected to cool on the days to come, with the maximal air temperature scheduled to drop to -5 Celsius degrees and snow is forecast in north Moldova.

In case of Yellow Code, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous, the forecast meteorological phenomena are usual for Moldova; yet, they may temporarily become dangerous for certain social and economic activities.
