Customs Service collected about 370 million lei

Chisinau, 9 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- This year, the Customs Service has collected to the state budget about 369.8 million lei (nearly 18.4 million euros), up by 24.6% compared to the same period last year.

According to the institution, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments of about 3.4 million lei were collected, which is 0.9% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.

At the same time, in the fight against fraud, during this period, 31 violations of customs legislation were found and fines in the amount of over 60 thousand lei were applied.

Also, 5,243 customs declarations were completed last week, and the flow of means of transport constituted 91,939 crossings. The most transited customs posts remain Leușeni and Sculeni, with 22,789 and 16,320 crossings, respectively.

During this period, in order to minimize waiting times when crossing through the border customs posts, the authorities recommend citizens to access the page of the Customs Service, the heading "Online traffic in border customs posts". Thus, traffic participants have the opportunity to view in real time the number of means of transport at the crossing points with the highest traffic values.
