ANRE increased some tariffs for water supply service in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 11 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The Board of Directors of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) approved today in a public meeting the differentiated tariffs for water supply, sewage and wastewater treatment by Apă- Canal Chisinau for 2023.

According to the ANRE decision, the public drinking water supply service will cost: for domestic consumers in the amount of 11.12 lei/m3 (+2.47 lei/m3 compared to the current tariff); for non-domestic consumers of 13.29 lei/m3 (at the current tariff level).

Also, the public sewerage and wastewater treatment service will be for domestic consumers of 4.18 lei/m3 (+2.14 lei/m3 compared to the current tariff); for non-domestic consumers of 11.17 lei/m3 (at the current tariff level).

The new tariffs will enter into force upon publication in the Official Journal.

"On the basis of the tariff increase, the operator claimed the existence of objective factors which, in accordance with the provisions of the tariff methodology, have the most significant impact on the increase of the existing tariffs for the public service of water supply, sewage and wastewater treatment provided by Apă- Canal Chisinau as follows: the increase of the regulated electricity prices by 87.9% (from 1.82 to 3.42 lei/kWh) and, accordingly, the expenses for the electricity consumed; the increase of about 4 times compared to 2020 in the prices of reagents used in water treatment and wastewater treatment; increase in regulated natural gas prices and tariffs for thermal energy used by the operator; the increase in consumption related to labor remuneration following the increase in the amount of the minimum wage per country, from 2,300 when the previous tariff was approved to 4,000 lei (about 200 euros)/month currently", ANRE said.
