Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - The employees of the mayoralties will benefit from non-taxable monthly allowances, according to legislative amendments published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.
Under the document, the local public authorities will be able to provide the staff, employed in line with the organization chart, approved by the State Chancellery, with non-taxable monthly allowances worth up to 40 per cent of the annual sum of basic salaries. The allowance’s reference index will be established by the local councils.
At the same time, the document envisages the change of the indexes as regards the administrative capacity of the local public authorities from 30 to 50 per cent. Thus, if the mayoralty’s administrative expenses do not exceed 50 per cent of its own incomes and the transfers from the state taxes, the mayoralty will be able to provide the non-taxable monthly allowance to all employees, according to the organization chart.
The document enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal.
