Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - The pupils of the Taraclia village, south-eastern Causeni district, will enjoy better conditions for education. The new headquarters of the Stefan cel Mare Theoretical Lyceum, which had been capitally renovated, was inaugurated today. Attending the event was Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

So far, the children have studied in the building of a former factory. About 22 million lei was invested in the restoration of the building, allocated from the District Council and the government. Thus, those almost 400 pupils will study at a modern institution, with classrooms endowed with everything needed for quality education.

„I was pleased to attend a class of robotics and I was impressed about how information technologies are applied at a class in history. I believe that this lyceum will become one of regional importance. Pupils from Taraclia, as well as from neighbouring villages, Baimaclia, Surchiceni and Chircaiesti, study here,’’ Igor Grosu said.

At the same time, the parliament speaker noted that the investments in regions remained a priority for the authorities.

„The settlements’ modernization is our priority and in the last year, we have managed to launch more projects on rural, community or even regional development. In the Causeni district alone, within the European Village programme, 18 projects worth 71 million lei will be carried out and we will continue, in the same pace, this year as well,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu added.
