Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - The operative group of documentation has detected the fuse with explosive of the missile which fell down nearby the Larga settlement, northern Briceni district, on 14 January, in the wake of Russia’s air attacks against Ukraine.

According to the Interior Ministry (MAI), following the detection of the explosive, decision-makers called the team of sappers of the National Army’s Codru Independent Battalion, for extended examination and establishing the joint way of intervention to remove the danger. Preliminary data shows that the missile’s fuse is fueled with about 80 kg of explosive material.

At the same time, because of the risks triggered by the existence of the explosive, the protection area was increased and teams of the National Police and Border Police undertake special measures and ensure the security perimeter, so that there are no dangers for the residents.

Also, today morning, police patrols informed the residents of the Pavlovca and Larga settlements from the Briceni district to keep distance and not near the security zone imposed by the authorities for protection. Also, access was blocked to the zone where the detonation will take place. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities were also informed about the existence of the explosive coming from the fuse of the collapsed missile.

A Border Police patrol on 14 January discovered remains of a missile coming from Russia’s attacks against Ukraine in zone of the border segment Larga (Briceni district). This is the third case when remains of a missile coming from bombardments against Ukraine fall on the territory of Moldova.
