Controlled detonation of remains of missile found in north Moldova to take place today

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Interior Ministry (MAI) has informed that the controlled detonation of the remains of the missile would take place today. Explosive was detected in the missile, following researches carried out in the zone of the border segment Larga (northern Briceni district).
According to the institution, joint teams of MAI and Defence Ministry sappers will intervene for the controlled detonation of the explosive. On 14 January evening, during the investigation on the spot, an operative group of documentation discovered the fuse with explosive of the missile which collapsed on the territory of Moldova. The common decision of sappers was to remove the danger through a controlled explosion.
MAI informed that the teams of sappers were trained specially and had the experience necessary for such situations, as they had made dozens of controlled detonations during time. Preliminary data shows that the fuse of the missile is fueled with about 80 kg of explosive material.
A Border Police patrol on 14 January discovered remains of a missile coming from Russia’s attacks against Ukraine in zone of the border segment Larga (Briceni district). This is the third case when remains of a missile coming from bombardments against Ukraine fall on the territory of Moldova.
