Dozens of farmers received grants for soil protection technologies

Chisinau, 25 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Farmers who made investments in the procurement of no-till equipment, irrigation systems and water storage basins received grants worth 285 thousand dollars.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA), the grant will compensate up to 30% of the value of the investment in technologies and practices that ensure soil protection, with a ceiling of 10 thousand dollars per beneficiary. Thus, 34 farmers were selected for funding.
The grant program for sustainable land management is implemented by the Moldova Agricultural Competitiveness Project (MAC-P), within the Grant Agreement signed between the Republic of Moldova and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Under the agreement, the country has got non-reimbursable financing of 3.1 million dollars from the sources of the Global Environment Fund.
