Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - A photovoltaic station with a capacity of 100 KW has been constructed in the Sirauti village, northern Briceni district. The investment exceeds 2 million lei (100,000 euros), allocated from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL) within the European Village National Programme.
The solar panels were set in the area of the gymnasium from this settlement. As a result, three public institutions from Sirauti enhanced their degree of energy autonomy. Thus, the first direct beneficiaries of the project are pupils and teachers of the education institution. At the same time, both the Andries kindergarten and the office of family physicians from the village are connected to the system of renewable energy.
According to the National Office of Regional and Local Development (ONDRL), the Briceni district benefits from 10 projects within the European Village Programme. Their overall value is of 19 million lei. It is worth mentioning that three out of these projects have been already implemented. The projects envisaged the drilling of an artesian well in the Drepcauti village, ensuring the access of the Larga commune to water and endowment of the gymnasium from the Cotiujeni village with furniture.
The European Village National Programme comprises 490 local development projects and 59 out of them have been already finished.
