Sixteen settlements of Moldova benefit from modern public illumination within European Village Programme

Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/ - Public illumination systems have been rehabilitated or set in 16 settlements of Moldova. The works were included in the European Village Programme and as a result, about 20,000 citizens benefit from light and safety on streets.
During four months since the starting of the projects, public illumination networks have been modernized in the villages of Schineni, Ocolina and Rublenita from Soroca district, Musteata and Risipeni from the Falesti district, Ursoaia (Causeni), Vasilcau (Soroca), Banesti (Telenesti), Zagarancea (Ungheni), Dolna (Straseni), Cupcui (Leova), Javgur (Cimislia), Mindresti (Telenesti), Siscani (Nisporeni) and Lipceni (Rezina).
Most recently, a public illumination network with an area of over 7 km has been rehabilitated in the Criva village, Briceni district. Thus, eight streets from the settlement were connected to the public illumination system. The network comprises over 100 LED illumination corps, which provide visibility and safety to about 1,600 residents of the village.
The project cost about 515,000 lei (25,000 euros) – money allocated from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development.
The single programme document for 2022-2023 comprises 43 projects which see the setting of public illumination, according to the National Office of Regional and Local Development (ONDRL).
