Moldovan speaker invites companies from Turkey to participate in renewable resource development projects in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- On a visit to Ankara, Speaker Igor Grosu discussed with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez, and Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

Grosu agreed with Fatih Donmez on strengthening Moldovan-Turkish cooperation in the energy sector. In this context, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spînu will participate in the Gas Summit, due on 14-15 February in Istanbul.

"In 2023, Moldova will focus on developing renewable resources and increasing energy efficiency. Thus, we invited the Turkish side to participate in these projects. Turkey is among the European leaders in the production of renewable energy and we want to learn from its experience", Grosu said.

Discussions with Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu focused on bilateral relations, prospects for cooperation in many sectors and reducing the impact on the region of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.

The officials exchanged views about the status of the Republic of Moldova as a candidate country for the accession to the European Union, a fact that causes the authorities to be even more determined in the implementation of reforms. "This intense dialogue confirms once again the strategic nature of our bilateral relations and the excellent interaction within several international and regional organizations, and we want it to remain at the proper level", Grosu said.

Grosu pays an official visit to Turkey at the invitation of his counterpart from Ankara on 25-27 January.
