Moldovan, French officials approach bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 27 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu had a discussion with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna, who made a short stop in Chisinau, as part of her visit to Ukraine.
According to the presidential press service, Maia Sandu thanked for the support provided by France over the years, but also during this complicated period, including through the Moldova Support Platform.
The French state has granted us humanitarian aid for the management of the refugee crisis, budget support, technical assistance in the energy sector, as well as for the modernization of the railway. Also, France was a strong ally in obtaining the status of a candidate country for joining the European Union. We continue to rely on the support of our friends in the advancement of the European integration process.
The officials also spoke about the challenges our country is facing in the context of the Russian war against Ukraine, the energy security, the Moldovan-French cooperation in the anti-corruption and the recovery of assets stolen from the country and within the afforestation program.
