IGSU conducts tactical exercise at Chisinau International Airport

Chisinau, Jan 30. /MOLDPRES/- This morning, at the passenger terminal of the Chisinau International Airport, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations /IGSU/, together with the airport officials, started a tactical exercise.

IGSU press officer Liliana Pușcașu said that the applications are carried out to practice the cooperation and coordination of the intervention mechanism in exceptional situations, and to test the intervention plan in emergency situations.

Several rescue and fire crews were sent to the scene after a fire was reported at the passenger terminal, according to the scenario. The first trained forces were the specialized firefighting teams from the Chisinau International Airport, which together with the intervention forces of the IGSU carried out the actual evacuation of passengers from the risk area.

The objectives pursued in the implementation of the applications concern the practice and testing of the common intervention plan in exceptional situations, but also the cooperation of the intervention teams of the Airport with the IGSU forces. The exercise will take place throughout today, and the actions of those responsible will be evaluated by specialists.
