Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ - More schools from Moldova where children of families of Ukrainian refugees study will receive new digital devices for the facilitation of the education process. The donation was made by the Chinese government and the ceremony on the equipment’s distribution took place in Chisinau today.

Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala said the donation included 1,500 tablets, which will be distributed, as priority, to schools where most Ukrainian children study. The minister thanked China for the support provided to Moldova and the children of refugees from Ukraine.

Ambassador of China to Moldova Yan Wenbin said that the digital devices would be delivered to beneficiaries in the nearest time. ‘’I have recently learned that the pupils who came from Ukraine faced a difficulty of studying online because of the lack of the technical equipment. Thus, I urgently coordinated the carriage of over 1,500 tablets. We hope that these products will help the children in the education process,’’ the ambassador said.

Attending the event were also the headmasters of the education institutions where the children of Ukrainian refugees, who will receive new digital devices, study. The headmaster of the Mihail Koțiubinski Theoretical Lyceum from Chisinau, Galina Varzaru, said that 51 children who had come from Ukraine were registered at the institution she leads. ‘’These children attend classes and participate in extra-curricular activities. At the same time, they study online in Ukraine as well. Quite many times, their classes meet the schedule from our institution. In the beginning of the year, pupils registered for education and afterwards they left, because they do not have time. The concerned donation would allow us opening another hall endowed with IT equipment, where children will be able to make their homework and to enter online at the class they have in their country, without hurrying to go home or to miss the classes from our institution,’’ Galina Varzaru noted.

According to official statistics, 43,457 minors refugees from Ukraine have arrived in Moldova so far. As many as 1,665 of them study at 229 schools from Moldova.
