Only five candidates for offices in Moldova's Supreme Council of Magistracy pass evaluation

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Pre-Vetting Commission today announced the latest results as to the evaluation of the candidates to the offices of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) among judges. Thus, only five out of those 28 judges registered in the contest passed the evaluation.
The Pre-Vetting Commission finished the evaluation of the CSM candidates among judges, with five decisions on the passing of the evaluation and 23 decisions on its failure. Those five candidates who passed the evaluation are magistrates of courts of first instance.
The candidates who failed to pass the evaluation continue to work in the judicial system, but they no longer can participate in the contest for the holding of the office of CSM member.
Twenty eight judges of courts from various levels registered for the contest for the position of CSM member, of whom five withdrew from the contest, thus failing to pass the evaluation.
