About 58 thousand residents of Transnistria benefited in 2022 from medical aid

Chisinau, February 10 /MOLDPRES/- About 58 thousand inhabitants of the Transnistrian region benefited in 2022 from urgent medical, pre-hospital and urgent primary care offered on the right bank of the Dniester. The data were presented today by the Reintegration Policy Office.

Thus, last year about 57,795 citizens of Moldova were registered on the list of family doctors, domiciled in the localities on the left side of the Dniester, the municipality of Bender and the neighboring localities of this segment who, as insured persons, benefit from primary healthcare institutions, including medicines compensated from the mandatory healthcare insurance funds. The number of patients is about 10 percent higher than in 2021.

According to the Reintegration Policy Office, over 22 thousand citizens of the Republic of Moldova, domiciled in the Transnistrian region, were consulted during the past year by doctors and specialists from the Anenii Noi, Rezina, Orhei and Criuleni district hospitals, on direct referral of the family doctor. At the same time, in 2022, 1,019 high-performance services were offered to beneficiaries from the Transnistrian region and neighboring towns.

About 2,371 patients benefited from hospital treatment in the public medical and sanitary institutions of the republican level, the number increasing by 27 percent compared to 2021.

Last year, from the sources of the Global Fund, 450 people from the Transnistrian region benefited from financial incentives in order to maintain compliance with anti-tuberculosis treatment, with a total amount of 1.52 million lei (76 thousand euros).

The population in the eastern districts of the country, similar to that on the right bank, benefit from batches of vaccine and consumables within the National Program of Immunizations, including anti-COVID-19.
