Russian ambassador to Chisinau summoned to foreign ministry

Chisinau, February 10 /MOLDPRES/- The head of diplomacy of the Republic of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, ordered the summoning of Russian Ambassador to Chisinau Oleg Vasnetsov to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to indicate to the Russian side the violation of the airspace by the overflight of the territory of our country by a Russian missile today.

"The Russian side continues the war of aggression against Ukraine, and the missile attacks on the neighboring country directly and negatively affect the citizens of our country. We strongly reject the recent unfriendly actions and statements in relation to the Republic of Moldova, which is absolutely unacceptable by our people. We call on the Russian Federation to stop the military aggression against the neighboring country, which is causing numerous loss of human lives and material destruction", a press release of the MAEIE reads.

The responsible structures of the Ministry of Defense detected, at 10:18 a.m., a missile, which crossed the airspace over the town of Mocra in the Transnistrian region and later over the town of Cosăuți in Soroca district, heading towards Ukraine.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, the country's airspace has been repeatedly overrun by missiles. At the same time, some of their components fell near the Moldovan-Ukrainian border.
