Twenty one education, social institutions of Moldova renovated through European Village Programme

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - More than 5,800 children from 21 settlements of Moldova enjoy better conditions, after schools and kindergartens they attend were renovated or endowed with modern equipment. The investments exceed 16 million lei (800,000 euros) and were carried out within the European Village Programme.
Thus, the roof of a gymnasium was rehabilitated in the Zgardesti commune, Telenesti district, and a kindergarten was renovated in the Troitcoie village, Cimislia district. At the same time, a library was modernized in the Tibirica village, Calarasi district, and the children from the Varvareuca village, Floresti district, benefit from a repaired sports hall and endowed with modern equipment.
Another project is to be finished in the Ghelauza commune, Straseni district. Works of reconstruction of a multifunctional administrative centre take place in the settlement. The centre will host the village library, kindergarten, offices of family physicians, as well as other public services. The project’s value is over 11 million lei and due to its implementation, about 1,300 people from benefit from better social services.
According to the National Office of Regional and Local Development (ONDRL), the Straseni district benefits from 25 projects on behalf of the European Village National Programme.
The programme comprises 496 projects, with an overall value of almost 2 billion lei. Seventy nine projects have been finished so far.
