Several cities in Moldova to get funding for revitalization projects

Chisinau, February 21 /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) launched a competition for identification, evaluation and approval of urban development projects, economic and social revitalization of cities. The deadline for submitting applications is March 21, 2023.
According to the institution, it is about the projects proposed for financing from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development for the following intervention measures: Connectivity and urban mobility; Competitiveness and support of economic activities; Modernization of the technical-building infrastructure and public utility networks.
"Applicants whose Concept Notes have passed the previous stage are eligible to submit funding applications," MIDR said.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, together with the Regional Development Agencies, announced in November 2022 the launch of the urban development project competition, intended for the cities of growth poles - Edineț, Soroca, Ungheni, Orhei, Comrat, Cahul and local public administration authorities, with city or municipality status, which have approved Urban Revitalization Programs. The purpose of the Contest is to accelerate the socio-economic development of cities, especially those with growth poles, capable of supporting development in the neighboring rural areas.
