Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - The government is set to supplement, this year, the fund of subsidization in agriculture by about 600 million lei and to further back the efforts of farmers from Moldova. Prime Minister Dorin Recean today made statements to this effect at a meeting with representatives of the business environment in the agriculture sector from the northern Falesti district, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

„We will ensure the conditions necessary for developing this essential sector for the national economy, including through investments in the agriculture’s industrialization. At the same time, besides the funds we provide, we urge you to apply also for projects from abroad, which will help us promote the agricultural sector of Moldova,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.

During discussions, the farmers referred to the importance of the access to new sales markets, increase in the volume of agricultural production, as well as to the need to ensure conditions of fair competition. They also emphasized the processes of major importance for farmers, such as the supervision of soil’s quality, prevention of droughts and accumulation of underground waters. ‘’One of the priorities included in the government’s action programme is the afforestation. We must return to 35 per cent of woods of the country’s area, as we will not solve the problem of the environment otherwise. Besides, we have initiated three big irrigation projects, as well as an animal husbandry programme,’’ the prime minister said.

At the working visit to Falesti, the PM met also representatives of the local public administration (APL), with whom he discussed the APL’s reform and the need to improve the quality of services provided to citizens. Recean noted that the people’s well-being was a priority of the government.

„The cabinet is concerned about the identification of resources needed for helping the local authorities and the citizens solve the problems they face in communities: aqueduct, streets’ illumination, better roads or transport between settlements. We will thus continue the European Village programme, through which we are to implement new projects on the country’s modernization. At the same time, the accession to the European Union has become a domestic policy and the European Moldova means that we want to edify a country with prosperous citizens, with strong and transparent institutions, with competitive business environment, for whom the relation with the state is not an obstacle,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.

The PM today discussed also with the head of the de-concentrated services in the territory, urging them to prove as much as possible involvement in the settlement of citizens’ problems. ‘’We must take as much as possible effort, so that the institutions work well, are efficient and boost their interaction with the other institutions, in order to facilitate the settlement of the citizens’ problems,’’ the prime minster also said.

In the context, the sides discussed the changes necessary for the civil status acts, the possibility to decrease the prices for the emergency services and, as a priority, the digitalization of the processes and services.
