Artists from eight countries to participate in Martisor International Music Festival

Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/ - Artists from Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, Spain, USA, Romania and Moldova will participate in the 57th issue of the Martisor International Music Festival, due to be held in Chisinau and all over Moldova on 1-10 March.
At a today’s news conference, Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said this was the first edition of the festival after the pandemic. According to the official, 42 musical shows will be presented at the festival, organized by the concert institutions subordinated to the competent ministry. Seventeen out of these shows will take place in Chisinau and 25 ones in the territory: Nisporeni, Ungheni, Comrat, Ghetlova, Orhei, Soroca, Hrusevo, Criuleni, Balti, Cimislia, Calarasi and Straseni.
For his part, the director of the Concert and Impresario Organization, Moldova Concert, Andrei Locoman, said the Martisor International Music Festival would be opened at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace with a concert on 1 March at 18:00.
On 10 March, the closing show of the Martisor Festival will be held at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace as well.
The festival’s budget is worth 2.5 million lei this year.
The first edition of the Martisor International Music Festival took place at the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic in 1966.
