Moldovan parliament speaker to pay official visit to Ireland

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu will pay an official visit to Ireland on 27 February – 1 March, at an invitation by his Irish counterpart.
Igor Grosu will have a meeting with Chairperson of the Chamber of Deputies of Ireland Seán Ó Fearghaíl and Chairperson of the Senate Jerry Buttimer. According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the agenda also includes discussions in the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committees and with MPs of the group of friendship with Moldova. In the context of the visit by Igor Grosu, the Irish parliament will host an exhibition of Moldovan traditional costumes.
In Dublin, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu will be received by President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins. At the same time, at the government, the parliament speaker will have meetings with State Minister for European Affairs Peter Burke and Minister of Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform Paschal Donohoe, who is also President of the Eurogroup – an informal structure which brings together ministers from the Euro zone member states. Igor Grosu has planned also a discussion with representatives of Irish low-cost air companies.
Traditionally, the parliament speaker will meet Moldovan citizens who live, work or study in Ireland, as well as Moldova-born people who settled in Ireland.
On his visit to Dublin, the parliament speaker will be accompanied by a delegation made up of lawmakers members of the group of friendship with Ireland: Radu Marian, Ion Spac, Victor Spinu and Veaceslav Nigai.
