Eight localities in northern Moldova to benefit from state funding for revitalization

Chisinau, March 1. /MOLDPRES/- The local public authorities in eight urban localities in the Northern Region of the country are to submit applications for funding for revitalization projects by March 27.
According to the Regional Development Agency (ADR) North, it is about municipalities of Bălți and Soroca, the cities of Drochia, Râșcani, Făleşti, Dondușeni, Otaci and Sângerei, which submitted the conceptual notes in the first stage of the Competition for the identification, evaluation and approval of the projects urban development, economic and social revitalization of cities, proposed for financing from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL).
"The purpose of this project competition is to support the acceleration of the socio-economic development of cities, especially growth pole cities, capable of supporting development in nearby rural areas", ADR Nord head Maria Prisacari said.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, together with the Regional Development Agencies, announced in November 2022 the launch of the urban development project competition, intended for the cities of growth poles - Edineț, Soroca, Ungheni, Orhei, Comrat, Cahul and local public administration authorities, with city or municipality status, which have approved Urban Revitalization Programs. The competition was carried out through two calls launched and carried out simultaneously.
