Former heads of to no longer benefit from state guard at end of mandate in Moldova

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - The people who held the offices of head of state, parliament speaker and prime minister will no longer benefit from state guard services at the end of mandate. Fifty four MPs adopted a draft law to this end in the second reading.
According to the authors, the exclusion of certain categories from the list of people who benefit from the state guard services has the goal to cut the expenses and optimize the use of the public money.
The legislative initiative also regards the adjusting of notions from the law on the State Protection and Guard Service (SPPS), as well as the completion with new provisions, which are aimed at improving the process of training the SPPS staff in line with the Labour Code’s norms. Also, the document sees the increase of the number of SPPS deputy directors by one unit.
