Chisinau, March 6. /MOLDPRES/- After one month in which fuel prices fell continuously, which resulted in a marked discount of over three lei per liter for diesel, the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) reports to a slight increase in the value of Platts quotations.
According to ANRE, "the latest increases in fuel prices are exclusively due to the increase in Platts quotations for petroleum products on international exchanges, an indicator that is at the basis of the current method of determining the price level".
"Thus, during last two weeks, which is used by ANRE in the price calculation, the increase in Platts quotations is 73 dollars/ton on diesel and 46 dollars/ton on petrol, a trend that continues. At the same time, the price of Brent crude oil reached more than $85/barrel in the last few days, while at the beginning of February quotes were recorded below $79/barrel", said ANRE.
Under these conditions, for Tuesday, ANRE set a maximum price for COR 95 petrol of 24.70 lei, increasing by 0.1 lei. At the same time, diesel will be sold at a maximum of 22.26 lei per liter, up by 0.15 lei.
