Maternity hospital in Ştefan Vodă district modernized with USA's support

Chisinau, March 7. /MOLDPRES/- About 60 thousand citizens of Stefan Vodă district will have access to better medical services, after the maternity center in the district center was inaugurated yesterday after major repairs.

The United States of America invested over 300 thousand dollars to renovate the maternity ward of the Ștefan Vodă district hospital.

"This project demonstrates the commitment of the US to support the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Moldova to increase the quality of medical care for women in Ștefan Vodă district," Kent D. Logsdon, US ambassador to Chisinau said at the event.

The maternity hospital in Ştefan Vodă was last repaired almost half a century ago. Thanks to the support of the USA, the ward was modernized, adapted to the current conditions and needs of obstetrics and gynecology.

In 2022, 292 children were born in Ștefan Vodă district.
