FOTO MOLDPRES to also cooperate with European news agency: institution signs agreement with BTA Agency of Bulgaria

Chisinau, 7 March /MOLDPRES/ - The MOLDPRES State News Agency today signed an Agreement on cooperation with the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) of Bulgaria. The document sees the reciprocal issuance of stories and information products. The document provides for the mutual spread of stories and information products.
The agreement was signed in Chisinau, during an official visit by BTA Agency’s director, Kiril Valchev.
At the event, MOLDPRES director Petru Beregoi thanked the BTA leadership and Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Moldova for the openness proved to sign this cooperation agreement. ‘’The document lays the foundations of a long-lasting collaboration between BTA and the MOLDPRES State News Agency. This agreement will boost the relations between the two institutions through the reciprocal exchange of the most important piece of news of the day and photos. Thus, during one year, we will make an exchange of 365 stories,’’ Petru Beregoi said.
For his part, BTA director Kiril Valchev said that, following the signing of the agreement, the agency committed to enforce the provisions contained in the document. ‘’ BTA will daily issue to MOLDPRES one of the most important stories, just as the MOLDPRES agency. At the same time, we make available the stories which will be made by our correspondent in Taraclia. Also, through the signing of this agreement, we will also exchange experience between agencies’ journalists. We are willing to organize the first visit of reporters from Moldova as early as in next June, when a national event will take place in Bulgaria,’’ Kiril Valchev said.
Also, the participants in the meeting established that the director of the Bulgarian News Agency, Kiril Valchev, who holds also the office of secretary of the Association of Balkan News Agencies, would provide every support to the MOLDPRES State News Agency to join this entity. The event itself is to be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 21-24 March this year, where a general assembly of all representatives of news agencies of the association will take place. It is about 12 member states.
The Bulgarian National News Agency was set up in 1898. The agency is an independent institution and its goal is to provide topical information to subscribers and citizens of Bulgaria. BTA provides a wide range of services, among which: stories from various sectors and photographic materials. At the same time, the institution works in close cooperation with international agencies.
MOLDPRES signed similar agreements with the Agencies Agerpres from Romania, Ukrinform from Ukraine and ANSA of Italy and presently discussions are held with the news agencies from Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia and Armenia, in order to conclude similar agreements.
